For my Television Production class we are working on a three shot sequence for this project. The first shot the key light, is and usually most important light that a photographer, will use in a lighting setup. Then it comes the fill light also shines on the subject, but from a side angle relative to the key and is often placed at a lower position than the key light.
Also the last one is the back light which shines on the subject from behind, often, but not necessarily to one side or the other.
